I've realized that this blog is giving the wrong impression about how I knit (the month long hiatus aside). Since I've been knitting for about a year and a half and have only had a blog for a month or two I have managed to give the impression that I am a relatively quick knitter. It's not true. In any way. Take for example this sweater.

Pattern: Loosely based on the Cropped Striped Sweater from Rebecca 29
Yarn: um...8 balls of GGH Bali
Color: #73 Brown and #70 Turquoise
Needles: Addi turbos size 6
Size: 38 inch bust
Changes: Lots of them. In fact the only thing that is the same is that it is off the shoulders.

I just finished seaming it last night. I started it about 8 months ago. But if I didn't tell you that it might look like I've knit more than one sweater in the last month. But I haven't. In actuality I am a pretty slow knitter. I often fall in and out of the knitting feeling. I get scattered and lazy. To lazy to knit? You betcha. I'm generally too lazy to change the channel on my TV (I broke the remote ages ago).

This should explain the next sweater. Glampyre.com's Angelica which has remained in this almost finished state since before Christmas.

Pattern: Angelica from Glampyre.com
Yarn: Knitpicks Andean Silk
Color: Sangria
Needles: Addi turbos size 7
Size: 36 inch bust
Changes: Quite a few. I moved the darts from the front to the sides. I'm not that fond of drawing attention to my mid-section. The same reasoning went into dropping the double ribbing around the middle. Since those changes stripped a whole lot of interest I added the extra ribbing around the sleeve (soon to be sleeves).

I decided to post this sweater before it was completely done because, now that I've worked it this far, I've decided I don't like it all that much. Unfortunately, that generally means it will stay in this state for quite a while before it gets frogged or finished and passed on to a friend or Goodwill.

So, I am hoping to come out of my last week and a half of knitting lazyitis. I think after New Years I'll be back. I think the Sunday hangover may just make it happen.

Knitting and cloying TV

So I've been wanting to post and meaning to post, but I can't find the cord to connect my camera to my computer. So I'm posting anyway and I'll update this with pictures later.

This weekend was very productive in terms of knitting and nothing else. It happens that there was an America's Next Top Model marathon on either Saturday or Sunday. I can't remember because it stole at least 7 hours of my life. I was feeling a little ill and it gave me an excuse to sit under a blanket and knit all day. I love that show. I can't help it. It appeals to all my base desires. Thank god I went to a Yoga class that day as well or I would have felt completely worthless. Worthless is the wrong word...overindulged. But it was lovely. And I promise to show you the fruits of my labor as soon as I get that cord (tomorrow hopefully).
